Christine Mellor

Christine Mellor has a background in midwifery and nursing and is a registered midwife with over 30 years of experience working in the field. She is respectful, compassionate, and empathetic. Whilst working and researching in midwifery Christine has become increasingly aware of the centrality of the mind during the childbirth continuum, and the significance of the mind-body connection, which she feels cannot be underestimated. She has a special interest in women’s health and in mental health. She understands the ripple effects that unresolved trauma, fear, and anxiety can have for pregnancy, labour and birth, and also for the way that we respond to the world around us.

Christine has a Master of Health Science degree, and a Doctor of Health Science degree. Insights from her extensive experience as a health professional and her research left her questioning. She became curious about how things could be done differently and what is needed; on this journey she discovered Havening. Christine has been blown away by the incredible healing that Havening supports and is committed to making a difference using the skills and knowing that she has acquired.

Christine loves working with people of all ages, all ethnicities, all genders, and all walks of life. She ‘sees you’ and respects all that you are, all that you bring, and considers it a real privilege to be able to support you to heal. She has worked with people who have experienced childhood emotional trauma, abandonment, sexual abuse, fear of childbirth and birth trauma, PTSD, chronic physical pain, to name a few. Alongside her work as a midwifery lecturer Christine has started a practice with a midwife colleague offering Havening.

Christine specialises in infertility, pregnancy loss, fear of childbirth, trauma during birth and across the childbirth continuum, phobias, anxiety.
